Brief (and likely incomplete) History: [2]

In 1845 the TIFFANY BLUE® color, also known as “robin's-egg blue” or “forget-me-not blue,” was chosen by Charles Lewis Tiffany for the cover of the first Blue Book, Tiffany's annual collection of handcrafted jewels. A popular version of the story posits that the choice of this color was influenced by the popularity of turquoise gemstones in 19th-century jewelry, which were particularly fashionable among Victorian brides.

Today, Tiffany Blue is used across all of Tiffany's branding, including its packaging, marketing materials, and store decor. Tiffany Blue was first registered as a trademark in 1998. A few years later, in 2001, the color was standardized by and registered with Pantone® as Pantone No. 1837 (named after the 1837 founding year of the company). Today, Tiffany Blue remains one of the most recognizable and cherished brand colors in the world, symbolizing the timeless elegance and quality of Tiffany & Co. products. Both the color, and the phrase itself, are registered trademarks.
