Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs for advancing to the 2025 SUPER BOWL®! This week we will be highlighting some trademark registrations celebrating the NFL championship game, including those owned by Philadelphia and Kansas City. Good luck to both teams!
Kicking things off, SUPER BOWL® [2] is a registered word mark used in connection with entertainment services in the nature of football exhibitions, together with a host of other goods and services. NFL® [3] and NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE® [4] (if you want to be formal) are also registered work marks used primarily in connection with promoting the interests of member football clubs. The NFL Logo [5], dating back to the 1940s!, is also a registered design mark for the same services.
The Philadelphia Eagles will be representing the NFC. Both NFC® [6] and NATIONAL FOOTBALL CONFERENCE® [7] are registered word marks dating back to the 1970s for promoting the interests of member football clubs. Similarly, the NFC LOGO [8] (first used in the 1980s) is a registered design mark for professional football games and exhibitions, among other goods and services.
And the reigning back-to-back champion Kansas City Chiefs will be representing the AFC. Both AFC® [9] and AMERICAN FOOTBALL CONFERENCE® [10] are registered word marks dating back to the 1970s for promoting the interests of member football clubs. The AFC Logo [11] is a registered design mark for professional football games and exhibitions, among other goods and services.
Both teams will be vying for the VINCE LOMBARDI TROPHY® [12], a registered word mark for promoting interest, excellence and sportsmanship in professional football through the medium of an annual award. The Vince Lombardi Trophy Logo [13] is also a registered design mark for the same services.
