Congratulations to the Eagles for advancing to the 2025 Super Bowl®! This week we will be highlighting some NFL championship related trademark registrations, including those owned by the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Good luck, Eagles!
Both the EAGLES® word mark [3] and the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES® word mark [4] are registered trademarks in connection with a variety of goods and services, including entertainment services in the form of professional football games and exhibitions.
The Eagles own trademark registrations for a variety of different logos, including the Eagle Football Logo design mark [5], the Eagle Head Logo design mark [6], the Eagles Colored Helmet Logo design mark [7], and the Eagles White Helmet Logo design mark [8]. All of the design marks are registered for entertainment services, namely, professional football games and exhibitions, among other goods and services.
Like their counterparts, the Eagles also own some unique non-traditional trademarks protecting the color configurations of their uniforms. The Eagles Home Uniform configuration mark [9] and the Eagles Road Uniform configuration mark [10] are both registered in connection with entertainment services in the form of professional football games and exhibitions. The Eagles also own configuration marks for the color and design configurations of their jerseys, including the Eagles White Jersey configuration mark [11] and the Eagles Green Jersey configuration mark [12], both registered for clothing, namely, jerseys.
The Eagles have been part of some of the most famous plays over the past decade. Not surprisingly, they have filed to protect some of the play names as trademarks. The PHILLY SPECIAL® word mark [13] (famous play in Super Bowl LII) and the BROTHERLY SHOVE® word mark [14] (short yardage play for Jalen Hurts) are both registered in connection with clothing. Of course, the “brotherly shove” is also affectionally known as the “tush push” – the TUSH PUSH word mark [15] is currently pending at the US Trademark Office, also in connection with clothing.
