Brief (and likely incomplete) History:

Congratulations to the Chiefs for advancing to the 2025 Super Bowl®! This week we will be highlighting some NFL championship related trademark registrations, including those owned by the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Good luck, Chiefs!

Both the CHIEFS® word mark [3] and the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS® word mark [4] are registered trademarks in connection with a variety of goods and services, including entertainment services, clothing, footwear, trading cards, calendars, among many others.

The Chiefs call home at Arrowhead Stadium, one of the most difficult stadiums for road teams in the NFL. The ARROWHEAD® word mark [5] is a registered trademark for entertainment services, namely, professional football games and exhibitions, among other goods and services. And the KC Arrowhead Logo design mark [6] is a widely known logo, registered in connection with education and entertainment services in the nature of organizing and presenting professional football games and exhibitions, toys and sporting goods, clothing, posters, and many other goods and services. On the logo front, the Chiefs also own the KC Helmet Logo design mark [7] (also featuring the Arrowhead Logo), registered for trading cards, posters, clothing and footwear, and many other goods.

Like a lot of sports teams, the Chiefs also own some unique non-traditional trademarks protecting the color configurations of their uniforms. The Chiefs Road Uniform configuration mark [8] protects the unique design and color combination for the Chiefs’ road unis, and the Chiefs Home Uniform configuration mark [9] protects the unique design and color combination for the Chiefs’ home unis. Both configuration marks are registered in connection with entertainment services in the form of professional football games and exhibitions.
